Get Involved
Intrigued by EUSci? Want to find out how you can get involved? You’ve come to the right place. We are always looking for talented writers, editors, designers or photographers. You do not have to be an Edinburgh University student to join, although it might help if you’re based in Edinburgh.
Submitting Articles
If you’d like to join our team of writers, you need to decide what kind of article you’d like to write. Regulars are articles that appear in every issue, although they may be written by different people from issue to issue. They include the focus article, news, book reviews, initiatives, history and Away from the Bench. Features are one or two page long one-off articles on any topic.
Anyone can submit an article. If you’re writing a regular, you will have to coordinate with our editor to make sure that somebody else is not already doing it. If you are writing a feature, you can just write and submit it, but be aware that we can’t accept all features that are sent to us.
Please send submissions, as well as any questions about writing for the magazine to:
Deadline for feature article submissions for the January issue: 5th October
Submitting News Stories
Have you stumbled over a science story that you think we should cover as a news article on our website? Just send it to us. News articles should be around 200-300 words. Send your stories to:
We publish the best stories in the printed version of the magazine, so this is another good way to get your byline into print.
Get Involved Further
We’d love for you to become involved further, be it as an editor, photographer, layout designer or somebody who’ll help us get advertising clients (a job whose importance can’t be underestimated!). You’ll also be able to join the EuSci society and take part in any activities that we may have planned.
